The Wind Caddie

A Wind Speed and Direction Indicator

Introduction

We set out to eliminate one excuse the golfer has: not knowing the behavior of the wind.  Current wind direction products on the market require you to hold a fan into the breeze in order to measure the wind.  Our idea was to mount a separate, non-directional wind detector, and have it transmit to a unit small enough that the golfer can easily carry in a pocket, or possibly wear clipped to the belt or worn as a watch.

Objectives

We intend to build a device that will measure the wind speed, direction, and possibly other weather statistics such as temperature, and store them temporarily until they can be sent to a remote data viewer.  The data viewer will allow the user to flip through the available data with the push of a button.
