High-Level Design

Cricket Robot can walk with three servos equipped on the cricket chassis.

All servos arecontrolled by various sequences of PWMs generated by Atmel 90S8515 microcontroller onboard.

Cricket can chirp different sounds with specified output pulse duration to a speaker onboard.

There are two antennas, like the long feelers like a real cricket has on the left and right front to detect an obstacle. The Cricket is programmed to back up autonomously when it hits something.

The Cricket can be remotely controlled by a Sony TV/VCR remote. The IR signals are detected by the Cricket's onboard IR detector and are decoded by software preprogrammed to the microcontroller.
