Improvements

We could make a number of improvements or additions to our current design. First, we could improve the communication between processors by replacing one transmitter and one receiver with ones that run at 418 Mhz. This would provide full duplex capabilities and more complex messages could be sent back and forth without interference. You could then build more detectors and laser guns to facilitate multiple players per team, or possibly multiple teams. Another improvement would be to increase the size of the filter and detector circuit to make it easier to hit an opponent. Also, if the filter was dome shaped, it would allow the detector to be hit from virtually any angle. Additional microcontrollers could be added to the laser guns to count shots or allow the user to switch in to different modes of operation (semi or fully automatic). The microcontrollers could calculate accuracy, and also force the player to "reload" the gun after a certain number of shots.
